In July 2017, the insect-fungus lab moved from the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Ecology in Jena to the Department of Animal Ecology and Tropical Biology at the University of Würzburg. Our group is currently composed of 2 PhD students, 4 MSc students, 2 BSc students and a lab manager.

In summer/fall 2019 we are hiring a third PhD candidate working on the Social Evolution of Ambrosia beetles.
